"Jengkol village goverment in Wonosobo arranges mechanism of village migration data"

KITA INSTITUTE worked in collaboration with the Population Control, Birth Control, Women’s Empowerment, and Child protection office of Wonosobo in holding a training of migration data collection mechanism on Thursday may 19th 2022. The training was held at village hall in Jengkol that was involved by 45 participants. The participants were from village apparatus, religion leaders, youth leaders, women, children, and local community leaders.

The training aims to ensure that the village government has valid data related to the number of its people who work outside the city and overseas, thereby the government is able to trace, to control its people and to prevent from undesirable things such as crime and human trafficking. Dr. Prayitno as he head of labor, industry and transmigration office Wonosobo was the speaker of the training stated that village government and local society are the first guardian in preventing criminal act of human trafficking or TPPO (tindak pidana perdagangan orang ). It is because the requirement for working document is realised by the village government. “The village government must protect its people. Having detail information about who and where its people would be working is the act of community protection. Therefore, when they have a case they would be able to trace and take an action immediately”. The training which was supported by Dutch Mensen Met Een Missie was appreciated by society in Jengkol. Yusman is the representative of youth organization was very happy of getting involved to the training. He said the training is able to make people participate in preventing the case of human trafficking. He understands the steps are being taken by the government to the case. He is willing to help the government to socialize the information he got to the society.

Jengkol village government commits to realize the result of the training in the beginning of July 2022. For those who want to work and get the job must fill the form provided by the local government. They can fill the form in Google form so that they can access it from their own cell phone. Besides, the government also provides printed form. People can ask the head of neighbourhood to fill the printed form. The village government hires two people who specifically manage this process.
