Promising High Salaries is The Way of The Criminal Act of Human Trafficking Syndicate in Batam

Zero-Human-Trafficking- The criminal act of human trafficking case in Indonesia especially in Batam still happens.

Police arrested three suspected of human trafficking perpetrators in this industrial city (Batam).

Those three perpetrators were involved in sending Indonesian citizens to Cambodia to work for fraudulent investment company.

The case was revealed after the nine victims asked for help and release.

The Riau local police investigated the case immediately and the found that the perpetrators who recruited the victims came from Batam.

“We received a letter from the Indonesian Embassy in Phnom Penh, Cambodia reporting the nine Indonesian citizens who work in one of companies in Cambodia on June 30, 2022. They for help to be released from the company due to they don’t work as they promised.” Said Kombes Jefri R.P Siagian, Director of the general Criminal Investigation of the Indonesian local police Riau to the CNN Indonesia reporters on Saturday (9/7/2022).

He said the victims were hired in Hong Li (the Company) in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. Victims were also given promises to work as sales marketing of big company with high salary.

In fact, they were forced to offer fake investments through social media to society using fake identities.

Korban juga diberikan iming-iming akan dipekerjakan sebagai marketing sebuah perusahaan besar dengan gaji yang menggiurkan.

“They promised USD 700 for those who do not have foreign language skill and USD 1.000 for those who are able to speak Mandarin and English.” He continued. (Batamnews.co.id)

Selain itu, kata dia, perusahaan juga menawarkan Money Game yang dirancang untuk menghilangkan uang para pemainnya.

Selama menjalankan pekerjaan itu para korban menerima gaji yang tak sesuai.

“Para korban hanya menerima gaji sebesar US$200 per bulannya setelah mengalami pemotongan serta jam kerja korban yang berkisar 16-18 jam sehari,” jelasnya.

Perusahaan pun melarang korban meninggalkan asrama selama bertugas.

Selain itu, penyidik kepolisian menduga ada tindakan penyiksaan apabila korban tak memenuhi target kerja.

Keluhan itu kemudian yang menjadi dasar penyelidikan kepolisian.

Selama kurang lebih satu pekan, polisi mengidentifikasi tersangka berinisial JE yang menetap di Perumahan Marina Park, Batu Selicin, Lubuk Baja Kota Batam.

Selain itu, polisi pun meringkus dua tersangka lain berinisial F dan H.

Para tersangka menjanjikan pekerjaan kepada korban di negara Kamboja sebagai marketing.

Mereka semula disebut akan mendapat gaji sebesar US$700 hingga 1.000 per bulan.

“Dan mendapatkan bonus serta fasilitas gratis setelah bekerja di salah satu perusahaan di negara Kamboja,” tambahnya.
