A Prosecutor and Underage Student Become Perpetrators of Child Sexual Exploitation

On Friday (19/8/2022), the Jombang Resort Police (Polres), East Java named AH a prosecutor as a suspect of child abuse case.

The joint team raided unscrupulous a prosecutor in a hotel in Jombang on Thursday early morning (18/8/2022). The police also arrested a 17-years old boy who was suspected as a pimp.

The head of Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jombang Police, AKP Gladi Nugraha said that the investigator also named the boy as a suspect. Both the boy and AH were committing of children sexual exploitation.

“We defined the boy as second suspect of sexual exploitation crime, “ Gladi explained for the kompas.com on Friday (19/8/2022).

He also explained that the boy as a pimp was an intermediary for AH to date the victim.

“We arrested three people, AH, the victim (16), and the boy as a pimp (17),” Gladi added

The boy is currently detained in the Jombang Police station with AH.

Gladi explained the pimp (the boy) is ensnared in article 82 juncto 76 E of law number 35 of 2014 concerning the amendment to law number 23 of 2002 concerning the Child Protection. “ for the second suspect, he threatened 5 years in prison for the minimum sentence and 10 years in maximum sentence,” he said.

The Jombang chief police AKBP Moh. Nurhidayat explained that the raid is done because of the victim’s parents’ report to the police in Jombang Police Headquarters. Then, the police searched for and found them at one of hotel in Jombang, East Java on Thursday (18/8/2022).

After carrying out the raid, the officers brought AH and some items of evidences to the Jombang Police Headquarters.
