The Big family of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KABARBUMI) Holds Discussion and Embedding of Anti-Human Trafficking Ambassadors

The big family of Indonesian Migrant Workers (KABARBUMI) held a public discussion in commemorating the World Anti-Human Trafficking Day and awarding the trophy to the winner of the competition which ware participated by high school students in Cilacap. The discussion was held in the Auditorium of the birth control office, women empowerment and children (KBPPA), Cilacap. This event were participated by 50 participants.

The speakers of the discussion were from four institutions. First was Aipda Joko Pramono, S.H., M.H., from the police office of Cilacap. Second was Dinu Insan Wardiansyah, S.H., M.H from the Imigration office. Third was Wiwik Widyawati, M.M from the KBPPA. Forth was Ervi Purnamasari, S.E., from the Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Agency.

The discussion was guided by Wiwin Warsiating, heah of department of advocacy and service of the KABARBUMI. She started the discussion by presenting the criminal act of human trafficking cases which had handled by the KABARBUMI. It was followed by presenting a film and responses from the speakers of the discussion.

The winner of the essay competition concerning on the human trafficking which was held by the KABARBUMI was announced in the event. The winner and the runner up received prizes and declared as Anti-Human Trafficking Ambassador in Cilacap.
Hopefully there would be synergy and collaboration of all the society elements to fight against the criminal act of human trafficking by holding the event. Furthermore, the Anti-Human Trafficking Ambassadors are expected to be able to educate their friends about human trafficking.

Cilacap is known as the regency with many cases of human trafficking in Central Java and there are many people in Cilacap who become migrant workers. Therefore, it is needed the synergy of all society elements in preventing the criminal act of human trafficking especially young generation who are able to be victims of human trafficking. (Jannah)
