Number of Cases Tends to Increase, Migrant Care Asks to Strengthen the Prevention of The Criminal Act of Human Trafficking Cases

Zero-Human-Trafficking- It needs synergy of all the parties to stop the human trafficking cases (TTPO) which have tended to increase recently.

The act of human trafficking is serious crime and we need to stop it. This is not only the government’s responsibility to handle this case but the community also needs to participate in eradicating the case.

The victims of human trafficking would get the negative impacts of their physical, psychological and social.

Therefore, Migrant Care asks all stakeholders to strengthen the prevention of the criminal act of human trafficking cases.

The head of Migrant Care Center for Migration Study, Anis Hidayah said from Suara.com on Saturday (9/7/2022).

He said that this crime is now a case with high intersectionality because it relates to some issues such as human right, women, employment and poverty.

Indonesia is still in the second level of countries that pay attention to the human trafficking but implementation of regulation is still weak.

Based on that report, the prevention of the criminal act of human trafficking is needed to be strength especially the implementation of the regulation

Migrant Care, he continued, suggested that the issue of preventing TIP should be included in the curriculum in schools.

The Migrant Care suggested that the issue of prevention of human trafficking should be included in the school curriculum it is because there are many students as victims of the human trafficking.

“The number of human trafficking victim comes from students and I think it is important to integrate it (the prevention) into the school-level curriculum in both formal and non-formal education.” He concluded. (*/Rizka)
