I Gusti Ayu Vira Wijayantri (23) from Banjar Tegal, Bebalang, Bangli, Bali abandoned in Turkey.
Vira asked for help to return to Indonesia via WhatsApp. She is serious ill and she is helped by her third employer in Mahmutlar, Sarihasanli, Turkey. Vira run away from her first and second employers.
She decided to work overseas in May 2020 because of her father’s bone cancer that needs much money for treatment and curing.
“My sister was dating with Mrs. Gung’s son. Mrs. Gung invited me to join in SPA training in Bali Widya Padmi International SPA School,” Vira explained, medcom.id on Monday (15/8/2022).
Vira said that the school is Mrs. Gung’s. Vira was promised to be sent to Turkey and would get high salary after several months training in the school.
In October 2020, after her training for 5 months her father passed away. That condition made Vira did not want to work in Turkey anymore.
“But Mrs. Gung did not give me opportunity to cancel it. She said, when I get money, the money is for paying my family’s debt and for my sister and my mother’s need. I was being forced a little and lured with high salary, I finally continued the training,” Vira said.
She waited for long time to go to Turkey and in March 2021 she informed that she would be going to Turkey in the end of April. She resigned from her job and she fulfilled the administration matters and signed the contract in April.
When she signed the contract, it was stated the salary that she would get was Rp 12 million in the document. She would also get good facilities such as lodging, food and drink but in fact she did not get it all. There is also an agreement in the contract that there would be a salary deduction for the supplier
Vira also admitted that she found out a gaffe when she was applying for an overseas manpower card in April.
“When I was applying the card I was not allowed to tell the officer that I would go to Turkey sponsored by the agent or Mrs. Gung. I was not allowed to tell the agent’s address when the officer ask me and we failed to get the card,” she explained.
On the next day, the agent helped her to apply the card by saying that Vira is her niece and she would go to Turkey by herself to the officer. Vira should pay Rp 1 million to process the card.
When Vira arrived in Turkey, she worked with Abdulrahman in Lonicera Hotel.
“When I wanted to eat I had to walk for about 5 minutes because the canteen is far. Sometimes I can only eat once a day because there were many guest, they said. Sometime I had to eat while I was working. I wrapped some rice and side dishes then I put in in my pocket. I ate it when I picked the guest up. If I did not do that I won’t eat all day,” she said.
Her remaining salary is only Rp. 4 million. She terrorized by Mrs. Gung every day. She run away twice and got different bosses but she got sexual harassment. Now, she lives with her new boss. Her new boss is kind but she gets low salary. (Roudhotul Jannah).
